Jamie and Ben wanted their beautiful Boston wedding to be classic, modern, and feel like an elegant and glamorous party for all of their friends and family to enjoy! They chose traditional colors of black and white, and had a fantastic team of local Boston wedding professionals to help bring their vision to life. They chose the Mandarin Oriental Boston right in the heart of Boston’s Back Bay for the days events — the perfect venue for everything from the morning preparations through to the after party.
We started the morning with Jamie and her bridesmaids as they got ready for the big day at the Mandarin Oriental Boston. Each bridesmaid (plus Jamie and Ben’s moms) had a personalized white bathrobe embroidered with their initials. The ladies helped Jamie button up into her beautiful Judd Waddell wedding gown. The Mandarin Oriental’s outdoor garden was the perfect location to have their traditional first look. We also spent some time inside with Jamie + Ben, getting a few pre-wedding photos in the Mandarin Oriental Boston’s many beautiful indoor spaces, before being joined by close friends and family for formals.
Jamie + Ben signed their wedding Ketubah, before beginning the wedding ceremony in the Mandarin Oriental Boston Ballroom. William Mizuta Private Florist provided the gorgeous chuppah that the happy couple were married under, wrapped in white fabric and accented with beautiful white flowers. Jamie + Ben wanted to pay homage to the Mandarin Oriental’s Asian influences during their cocktail hour, so guests enjoyed a fabulous sushi station manned by a live sushi chef as part of their hors d’oeuvres!
The Mandarin Oriental Boston Ballroom was transformed into a gorgeous reception space. The decor complimented the Ballroom’s natural golden light, with a mix of submerged florals and beautiful white arrangements illuminated by candle light on each of the tabletops. The golden ballroom chairs were matched with textured golden charger plates, and the white chuppah remained in the corner to house the stunning four-tiered black and white wedding cake. The party kicked off with the first dance and traditional Hora, and DJ Mike Amado kept everyone dancing all night!
Special thanks to Jamie + Ben for sharing your beautiful wedding day with us, and to the entire team at the Mandarin Oriental Boston for a flawless (and fun!) event. Congratulations!
